Limerick Athletic Club is saddened by the loss of one of it’s greatest and long serving coaches, William (Willie) Logan.
Willie was involved in Athletics in Limerick from the early 1970s until recently. Together with his late wife Nuala, Wille was responsible for setting up juvenile athletics in Limerick in the 1970s and 1980s. Willie and Nuala helped so many young people to achieve their potential not just in athletics, but also in life.
As well as being a very special person, Willie was also a very knowledgeable and successful coach whose athletes achieved numerous accolades over the years. Many of his athletes represented Ireland across all age groups and gained further success in America while on scholarship.
Willie will not only be missed by Limerick AC, but also by the wider athletics community.
May he Rest in Peace.
