Munster Cross Country Day 1 Results

Day 1 of the Munster Cross Country Championships featuring the Novice, u20 and Juvenile Even ages were held in Twomile Borris, Tipperaty on Sunday on a calm and dry day. The course was dry underfoot but bumpy in places with many athletes finding the long drag up to the finish on the 1.5km and 2km loop hard going. With over 1,500 entries across the day, the early races had upwards of 200 runners.

There were individual, club team and county team medals a plenty throughout the day with Darragh Whelan’s out of age victory in the u16 boys the stand out club result of the day, closely followed by a fantastic 2^nd place for Killian Coman in the u14 boys. A special mention for Ross Redmond who made his Cross-Country debut in the Novice Men’s 6km. Ross had probably already covered twice the distance cheering on the juvenile athletes he helps coach earlier in the day.

U10 Girls

Polly McPhail 17^th, Ciarda Ryan 49^th, Caoimhe Burke 51^st, Ellie Ryan 73^rd, Jessica Ryan 87^th, Ella Fahy 146^th, Elise Grant 151^st and Emma Corbett 160^th. In the team events Limerick AC were 4^th while Limerick were also 4^th County Team.

U10 Boys

Sean Noonan 28^th, Finn Cronin 47^th, Rowan Carroll 64^th, Michaeál Og O’Cearnaigh 77^th, Evan Lynch 91^st, Louis Phelan 93^rd, Roan Treacy 94^th,, Cillian Cronin 114^th, Ross O’Neill 122^nd . In the team events Limerick AC were 9^th while Limerick were 6^th County Team.

U12 Girls

Alana Ryan 9^th, Caragh Treacy 19^th, Keeva O’Loughlin 24^th, Anna Murphy 43^rd, Zoey Slattery 56^th, Isabelle Connolly 110^th, Saoirse Noonan 140^th, and Daisy Phelan 148^th. In the team events Limerick AC were 5^th while Limerick were also 5^th County Team.

U12 Boys

U14 Girls

Killian Coman 2^nd, Jack Ryan 20^th, Oisin McGuinness 24^th, Rian Kiely Keogan 25^th, Myles Anderson 37^th, and Tadhg Reen 58^th. The Limerick AC team were 2^nd while the county team were 3^rd.

U16 Girls

Fay Moore 22^nd

U16 Boys

Darragh Whelan 1^st, John Farrell 28^th, Dáire O’Dwyer 35^th and Enea Pizzola 49^th.

The Limerick AC team were 3^rd.

Novice Men

Derek Kiely 7^th, Thomas Shanahan 17^th, Aaron Gallagher 32, Damien Treacy 46^th and Ross Redmond 64^th. The club team were 4^th while the county team were 3^rd.

Day 2 of the Munster Championships featuring the Senior, u23 and Juvenile uneven age groups are schedule for the 2^nd of November in Cooraclare, Co. Clare.
