The Munster u15-u19 indoor championships were held over the weekend and there were some incredible results and performances across the board from our athletes.
George O’Brien won the u13 boys pole vault in what must be a first for the club in this event for a very long time. Fionn Cunningham won gold and silver in the u18 400m and 200m, while Darragh Whelan won both the u16 boys 1500m and 800m setting Championship Best Performances in both. His 3.59.67 in the 1500m looks like it could stand for many years having taken an incredible 28secs off the previous best performance. The u15 and u15 boys also won their respective 4 x 200m relays.
The first four finishers in each event automatically qualify for the national indoor championships which take place in late March and early April. Congratulations to all who took part and good luck to those who qualified for the nations.
