The third day of this year’s National Juvenile championship brought another gold, two silver and bronze medal for the club.
Congratulations to Anna Murphy who won what will hopefully be the first of many national titles when she won the u13 girls high jump with a first time clearance of 1.44m. Success in the high jump wasn’t limited to Anna as Charlie McElroy also won bronze in the u12 boys competition.
There was double silver in the relays as the u13 boys and u14 girls both came second in their events. The teams were Jake O’Connor, George O’Brien, Ryan O’Connell, Tom Lynch & Rory McDonnell and Rachel Ryan, Ayala Comyns, Crea Moore & Gabriella O’Neill.
This brought the medal count over the three days to an amazing 11 in total; 4 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze across jumps, throws, hurdles, middle distance and the relays. A truly remarkable achievement. Congratulations again to everyone who took part and to all the coaches, parents and guardians who help nurture the athletic talent of the future.
