There was triple gold for the club in Tullamore over the weekend at days 1 and 2 of the National Juvenile Track and Field Championships.

The medal rush started first thing on Sunday morning with George O’Brien and Conor Oliver winning silver and bronze in the u13 60mH which was added to moments later as Charlie Smith won gold in the u14 75mH. The hurdles are proving to be an emerging strength at the younger ages which is testament to great work put in by our athletes and coaching team.

Despite a host of strong performances throughout the day, we had to wait until the end of the day for our next medals but it was worth the wait as Killian Coman won gold in the u15 800m followed immediately by Darragh Whelan winning gold in the u16 800m.

There were some other notable results over the weekend with Anna Murphy 4th in her high jump missing out on the podium on countback. We also had a number of athletes making their debut at the nationals who will certainly have gained lots of confidence from their performances over the weekend.

Congratulations to everyone who qualified and took part at the weekend and a huge thank you to all our coaches, parents and guardians for all your support in getting our athletes to this stage.
